Hopes Together
We are asking you
The request for you to say yes
We yearn for that day
That truly brings us together
We love you, we respect you
Moments with you are cherished,
Moments to be with you are dreamed
And yet, you refuse
One nod, one smile, one yes
A hope still burning wild in us
We look to you with eyes filled with dreams
For you to see it, for you to accept it
We know it is difficult for you
A life lived too long this way
For you don't know of life our way
And yet, we know it is not impossible for you
The world knows it, accepts it
It has been done,
Even when you say no
But we wait..we wait because of our hope
No, we don't need you
We dont need your nod or your smile
We want you, because we know
We are because of you
We stand tall and speak to you
Because you showed us how
You taught us to have strength
Values that we should believe in
So here we are, asking you
Rooted in our values, our strength,
Our love.
With hopes still burning wild in us
For one nod, one smile, one yes from you.

Strong Hopes
There you are, across the seas
Tides so high, waves so soft
The mountains so tall, my sight so faint
Hopes so strong, strength so weak
My sight par the horizon,
In faint hopes to meet
Like the river, yearning to touch,
the soft sand on the shore
Nostalgic times become my life
Memories plenty, life so little
Survival is all I have,
Until the day we meet again
The nourishment, the love
None of that is here, my love
The passion for you, the yearning I have
For that one feel, one touch of you
Your aroma so divine, your words of music
The touch of you, the warmth you share
You taught me to love,
you built the passion in me... For you
Years passed by, time stood still
Your beauty vivid in me,
My love for you is all I have
One sight of you, is all I ask
Miles away, in a world so alien
I seek, I strive, I look to a day to unite
not because you gave me all I have
because you showed me what I have
Words don't do justice
To explain the melancholy in me
For happiness is with you,
Until the day I meet you again,
Each day passes in the hope to meet
My good old love, my beloved country
Tides so high, waves so soft
The mountains so tall, my sight so faint
Hopes so strong, strength so weak
My sight par the horizon,
In faint hopes to meet
Like the river, yearning to touch,
the soft sand on the shore
Nostalgic times become my life
Memories plenty, life so little
Survival is all I have,
Until the day we meet again
The nourishment, the love
None of that is here, my love
The passion for you, the yearning I have

Until the day I meet you again,
Each day passes in the hope to meet
My good old love, my beloved country

Beliefs Surreal
Parallel worlds that never meet
Conflicted I am, what is real, what is not
To where we belong, where I am
The worlds so different
One's void fulfilled by the other
One's abundance, making up for the lost
Always a battle of what is,
what isn't
Is it what I don't see, the known
Or what I know, that still remains a stranger
Is it the faith, or the fact
Where a million words cannot replace,
A single sparkle of imagination
With a tint of love
A million rays of shine
It is, yet just a reflection of particles
A manifestation of the hues that form
And yet the eye glitters
With wonder, a sense of amazement
For it is not just a particle, but a creation
A wonder known and yet mysterious
Perhaps derived and yet created
From the known through the ignorant
Or vice versa
Unreal is it, real it is
Perhaps surreal
The creation, the manifestation.
Conflicted I am, what is real, what is not
To where we belong, where I am
The worlds so different
One's void fulfilled by the other
One's abundance, making up for the lost
Always a battle of what is,
what isn't
Is it what I don't see, the known
Or what I know, that still remains a stranger
Is it the faith, or the fact
Where a million words cannot replace,
A single sparkle of imagination
With a tint of love
A million rays of shine
It is, yet just a reflection of particles
A manifestation of the hues that form
And yet the eye glitters
With wonder, a sense of amazement
For it is not just a particle, but a creation
A wonder known and yet mysterious
Perhaps derived and yet created
From the known through the ignorant
Or vice versa
Unreal is it, real it is
Perhaps surreal
The creation, the manifestation.

I am, Because of You
I don't remember the first time you held me
I am, because of you,
I can't recall the feeling when we met
When you first saw my Tears, Rejoiced my smile
I don't have a story of us,
And yet that doesn't leave a void in me
For I've known you as much as I've known myself
Ever since I've existed in this world
It is inevitable but for me to take your presence for granted
It is you I opened my eyes to,
You who I walked towards,
Raised my arms to for an embrace
I am, because of you,
It is part of your life I carry in me
Years have gone by, and yet you remain
You are there in me, In my soul
It is because of you that I exist
For I am because of you
When I close my eyes and think of how much I need you,
I always open my Eyes to see you
Am bereft of words to be able to thank you,
It's more than the gratitude
It is the faith I've had in you, in me
In my existence because of you
In the laughter we share,
In the tears we shed
In the songs we sing
The lyrics we forget
To every second that made us love each other more
To every thought of mine with you,
And yours in me
All I can think of, is how lucky I am,
To have you
To whom if I close my eyes in need of you
I am sure I'll open my eyes to see you
Like it’s always been, my dearest mom
Love you Di.

To you, From us
We live in a constant
state of fear
What should we wear?
How should we walk?
Should we look up – or
should we stare at our feet?
No, these are not our
decisions
It is what you ask us
to do
We do everything that
it takes
To have a normal
peaceful life
And yet, your lewd
comments
The remarks that bring
tears to our eyes
The constant brushing
of your body, in public spaces
Your lecherous eyes,
staring down at us
And yet we are made to
feel ashamed
We are asked to change
ourselves
Like it is your
birthright
For it is not ours.
We prosper and we
progress
We are stronger and we
work harder
We know power, we
understand being in power
But no sir, we do not
HARM
Because of your rules,
your birthright
Because of whom you
want us to be
How you want us to
dress, talk and behave
Today, we are relieved
when
We see a gun in your
hand approaching us
Than the worst
nightmare you have in store for us.
